Icebreaker: This was an engaging activity that got the participants to start thinking about what’s to come. By playing the songs that most of the participants were able to recognize, after some thinking, they were talking amongst others around them and introducing themselves while becoming engaged with us before we presented. By the end of the icebreaker, we and the participants were ready to begin the training since we were all now comfortable with one another.

Follow Spree: This was an engaging activity that got the participants to start thinking about what’s to come. By playing the songs that most of the participants were able to recognize, after some thinking, they were talking amongst others around them and introducing themselves while becoming engaged with us before we presented. By the end of the icebreaker, we and the participants were ready to begin the training since we were all now comfortable with one another.

Group Post: This is an activity that has all participants engaging with others in the room. While they post all of their information regarding their non-profit organization on a document that is shared with others in the room, they will be able to explore what others are posting. By doing so, each person can get an understanding of other non-profit organizations, and further connect with those around them.

Participants will form groups and create a post to promote the Great Community Give. This will help them to internalize all of the information they’ve spent most of the morning learning. This is a great way for participants to engage in the tips and techniques that we have taught them up to that point, as well as ask questions if they have any.

Workshop: Participants were given 20 minutes to create a social post about the Great Community Give using all the information they had learned in the presentation. The facilitators walked around the room to answer questions, work with the participants, and offer help and advice. What better way to conclude a training session than to have them create a real post to brand themselves?! Participants now have the tools needed for effective social media branding and marketing.
